Babies of color are VERY challenging to truly represent the actual coloring. I know she looks darker in several pics, but she is more on the medium skin tone coloring. Contact me and we can talk more about her coloring. Again… I am sorry about her pics, I’m not a photographer.

When painting all my kits I try to pay close attention to details. This doll has:

1. a “damp” shimmer inside her ears
2. coloring inside her nostrils and with a slight shimmer
3. her lips have a “damp” look, as does the corners of the eyes
4. detailed nails
5. rooted hair
6. applied eyelashes
7. brown, acrylic eyes that are glossed to give them some depth
8. the head is weighted to have that “newborn” slight forward “flop”
9. there is a magnet behind the lips to take a modified pacifier
10. the doe suede body is weighted with fine glass beads and poly-fill
11. the limbs are sealed
12. I stitch close the casing that hold the zip-tie “head”
13. the limbs also have movement within the casings because I don’t tighten the zip-tie too tightly

As with any doll of color… representing the skin tone is very challenging. Sara Linn has a medium cocoa coloring that does not have mush reddish tone. Her palms are lightly painted as her feet bottoms are on the lighter tone. Her eyebrows are painted and I have painted lower eyelashes in the corners of her eyes.. The doll is sealed with a slight matte finish.
